Welcome!

Hello! Welcome to my blog on "Adventures in Extreme Couponing". I will be posting daily finds, coupons, and tutorials on how to find and use coupons in the grocery store.  I'm just getting started with this myself, so we'll learn with each other along the way! :)

The picture I posted above was my shopping trip today at CVS Pharmacy.  The total spent on these items came to $12.50. My total savings on those items was $17.60.

Here's how I did it:

First: Find the weekly sales ad for the store you'll be shopping at.
Second: Find coupons that match the sales items. Often you can find these in the Sunday newspaper, in stores, you can subscribe to coupon clipping services online, or even in-store advertisements.
Third: try to match sales with in-store coupons/manufacturer coupons/register rewards.
Fourth: If you don't have a loyalty card that that store offers, GET ONE!

Here's how I did this trip:

First I bought the protein bites for $2.49. You get $2.49 in register rewards, so essentially you get the item for free. I also grabbed the 2 cereals. They were on sale for 2/$4.00, plus I had a $1.00 off 2 coupon from this Sunday's newspaper.  So in that transaction, I paid $5.49 and got my register coupon for back for $2.49 off my next purchase.

Then, they had milk on sale for $2.99. So I did another transaction, grabbed the milk, used the $2.49 register rewards on that purchase, got the milk for $0.50! Along with that purchase I also picked up the Irish Spring. The Irish Spring was $2.99 with a $2.00 register reward. Plus I had a coupon for $0.75 cents off the Irish Spring that I received in the mail by complimenting the Colgate-Palmolive item I used and sent an email to the company. They sent me back a booklet of coupons. So, that total transaction came to $3.02 with $2.00 back in register rewards.

So, transaction number 3, I saw cheez-its on sale 2/$4.00. So, I grabbed 2 boxes and used the previous $2.00 register reward coupon on it. That transaction came to $2.00. The cheez-its also gave me $1.00 in register rewards.

So, I go back for transaction number 4. I see milano cookies on sale for $2.99. So, I grab one, use my previous $1.00 register reward, and get the milano cookies for $1.99. That was how I did it. :)

Happy Couponing!
